This reverts commit 58d7804d.  It
caused a use-after-free bug when Client::OnSocketError() was called
due to a failed write, e.g. if the output buffer was full.

Allows removing a CommandResult::CLOSE check.

This catches lines within command lists as well.

Since we switched from autotools to Meson in commit
94592c14, we don't need to include
`config.h` early to properly enable large file support.  Meson passes
the required macros on the compiler command line instead of defining
them in `config.h`.

This means we can include `config.h` at any time, whenever we want to
check its macros, and there are no ordering constraints.

Prepare to migrate away from GLib.  Currently, we're still using GLib
as a backend.

Replaces GLib's GError.

This lives in protocol/result.h now.
